Institute of Navigation (ION) Thurlow Award

The Institute of Navigation has presented the 2006 Thurlow Award, which honors outstanding contributions towards the science of navigation. The Thurlow Award is given in memorium of Colonel Thomas L. Thurlow, U.S. Army Corps, a brilliant engineer, skillful pilot, and able officer who contributed significantly to the development and testing of navigation equipment and the training of navigators and pilots. He met an untimely death while flight testing a new compass in 1944.

Prof. Brzezinska

Professor Dorota Brzezinska wins the 2006 Award. Additionally, Brzezinska's SPIN lab (Satellite Positioning and Inertial Navigation) was awarded the 2005 USGIF Academic Achievement Award for Academic Research.
